About the hybrid format

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, MatchPoints 2021 will be a hybrid event, allowing guests to attend the conference both virtually and in-person.

The MatchPoints organizers have teamed up with the AV team at Get Visual to ensure a smooth experience for the virtual guests, who can follow the conference through the media platform Get Visual TV.

The hybrid track will be moderated by Jacob Rosenkrands, a journalist at DR (the Danish Broadcasting Corporation).

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, MatchPoints 2021 will be a hybrid event, allowing guests to attend the conference both virtually and in-person. Because of ongoing travel restrictions, some speakers will participate virtually in their panels.

Physical participation

When registering for MatchPoints 2021, you can choose between four in-person thematic tracks. Each track consists of six sessions and more than twenty speakers.

The physical programme includes many occasions to chat and connect with other guests over lunch and coffee, and to enjoy sustainably prepared meals in the leafy surroundings of Aarhus’s University Park.

In-person guests can also sign up for the network event Dinner, Debate and Digitalization.

Virtual participation

You can participate remotely in MatchPoint’s main track, Democracy in the Digital Age, which has a hybrid format. Virtual guests can participate in digital-only Q&A sessions with selected keynote speakers, and connect with other guests and speakers during breakout sessions. After the conference, virtual guests will receive free access to recorded session from all four tracks.

Upon registration, you will receive a link to the platform Get Visual TV. Note that you will need access to Zoom to participate in the breakout rooms.

Safety precautions

MatchPoints 2021 is committed to ensuring the health and safety of its guests and speakers. Aarhus University is following all official guidelines for public events to minimize the spread of Covid-19.

The organizers are closely monitoring new developments in the pandemic and will adjust the format of the conference accordingly. They are also working with Centralværkstedet, the venue of the Firday network event, to secure a safe environment for the participants, including strict hygiene protocols, safe food service and social distancing measures.

At this point, the organizers are optimistic about the prospects of holding MatchPoints 2021 as a hybrid conference. However, should the circumstances dictate otherwise, MatchPoints will transition to a fully virtual format.
